After the massive success of 2024, GFF After Hours is back for our 2025 festival, kicking off in style with the return of our much-loved GFF Movie Karaoke.
Join us at the Glee Club for a night of unhinged musical madness, adding a certain ‘twist’ to your film (and non-film) related favourites. Perform solo or with your pals until the early hours, on the perfect post-screening Friday night. GFF’s favourite Karaoke
host SANJAY LAGO will once again assume compere duties, and keep you entertained in between tunes.
Sanjay Lago is an Indian Scottish neurodiverse actor, writer, facilitator and comedian who graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has always had a passion in new work and diversity in the arts. Recently, he was a part of the Soho Theatre Writers Lab, where his play “Jalebi” was Longlisted for the Tony Craze Playwrighting Award. Sanjay was also the John Mather Trust Rising Star of Scotland recipient with National Theatre of Scotland where he developed his play “Floating Along Silently”, which looked at male mental health and South Asian communities, which was then one of 3 commissions to the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival in October 2024. In addition, he has worked with Traverse Theatre, Imaginate, Mischief Las Bas, Tamasha, Tara Arts and Scottish BPOC Writers to name a few. He has also hosted the Glasgow Mela in Kelvingrove park for 3 years, and also the Edinburgh Multicultural Carnival.
He also has been developing his stand-up theatre show “Love Me Like a Chai Tea Latte” which he performed at The Vaults Festival in London in 2023 and then the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, where it was given a 5 star review and Sanjay was awarded the Birds of Paradise Emerging Talent Award at the Neurodiverse Review Awards. The show is part of the Soho Rising Festival at the Soho Theatre in February 2025, a dream theatre for Sanjay.
He is excited to be a part of the Glasgow Film Festival 2025 and bring some of his comedic flair to the festival.

Our favourite kind of dance party returns to GFF. Better than any wedding you’ve been to, the GFF Ceilidh is the perfect time to get some exercise after sitting in the cinema for a week. And if you’re lucky, you’ll witness our very own Allison Gardner complete every single dance of the night. The BASS ROCK CEILIDH BAND will be back as our hosts for the evening. Get sweaty.
Bass Rock Ceilidh Band are a Glasgow based truly electric four-piece ceilidh band with fiddle, bass (of course), electric guitar and drums (electric too), adding an exciting, rock twist to traditional Ceilidh music. We’ve been around since 2014 and, although based in Scotland’s central belt, have played hundreds of venues from as far south as Cumbria to as north as Gairloch. We believe Ceilidh should be an integral part of any Scottish celebration, and it’s always nice to rock out while doing that too!

Doors open at 19:00. The Ceilidh will start at 20:00 sharp.
Some traditions exist to be broken. And some are there to be made. We’ve realised that we just love to party a day early, and so our Closing Party will again fall on the Saturday before Closing Night. Dress to impress, get “papped” on the Red Carpet, and get your answers ready for the cameras. Join your fellow film fans, festival guests and delegates to see GFF 2025 out in style.
Tickets for our Closing Gala “Make it to Munich” on Sunday 9 March also include entry to this event, please claim your free party ticket when purchasing your tickets to the Closing Film.
