Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang! Bang! the hugely popular podcast and TV show comes to the UK for the first time! Visiting four major cities across the country these special live performances feature Scott and very special guests Paul F. Tompkins & Lauren Lapkus doing a totally improvised program, with plenty of character drop-ins. Starting in Manchester on September 25th before visiting Nottingham and Leeds the tour finishes with a huge show at London’s iconic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Comedy Bang! Bang!
Comedy Bang! Bang! is a weekly comedy audio podcast, which originally began airing as a radio show on May 1, 2009. It is hosted by writer and comedian Scott Aukerman. Many notable people in the world of comedy, music, television and film have appeared on the podcast, including Weird Al Yankovic, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt, Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis, Ben Stiller, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, St. Vincent, Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, and Michael Cera.
In June 2012 ‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’ became a TV series on IFC and Netflix with frequent appearances from stars of the podcast including Reggie Watts and has since toured the US, Canada and Australia with its live show. Emmy winner Scott Aukerman is the creator, host and writer of ‘Comedy Bang! Bang!,’ which is currently in its fourth season on Netflix. He is also the host of ‘Comedy Bang Bang: The Podcast’, that lives on the Earwolf Podcast Network, which he co-founded.
In addition, Scott is the co-creator and director of the Emmy-winning Funny or Die web series Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, which has received worldwide attention for its instalment featuring President Barack Obama. Aukerman began his career as a writer and performer on the HBO cult classic Mr. Show with Bob and David, for which he garnered an Emmy nomination.
Paul F. Tompkins
Paul is a comedian, actor, host and writer, known for his work on such television programs as Mr Show with Bob & David, Real Time with Bill Maher and voicing the role of Mr. Peanutbutter on the Netflix animated series Bojack Horseman. He also hosts his own podcast ‘Spontaneanation’ and appeared in P.T. Anderson’s epic drama There Will Be Blood.
Paul’s last visit to the UK gained rave reviews from critics with The Independent calling him ‘Sparkling and sophisticated’ and The Guardian saying he is ‘A true pro trading in classic comedy, with a light touch and a bountiful sense of fun’.
Lauren Lapkus
Lauren Lapkus is an actress and improviser best known for her role as Susan Fischer on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, which won her a SAG award in 2014. Most recently, you can see her in Jurassic World as Vivian, a character that provides brilliant comic relief in the film.
Lauren wrote and starred in her own 30 minute Netflix comedy special as part of the series, The Characters. She will next be seen recurring on the upcoming HBO series Crashing, produced by Judd Apatow. Lauren’s other credits include Drunk History, and the films Blended, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and Matthew Weiner’s Are You Here, starring Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson. She has also lent her voice to several animated series including Bob’s Burgers, Adventure Time, and HBO’s Animals.
