Xmas FAQ

Christmas FAQs

When coming to The Glee Club for Christmas, we understand you may have questions about how it works. Hopefully the following faqs cover it, but always feel free to get in touch with our friendly team.

Call 0871 472 0400 or email christmas@glee.co.uk.
Calls cost 13p per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

For Box Office opening hours, please see our contact page for details.

Below are a collection of the most common FAQs, so please take a look here first!

Our Shows Explained

A whole night of comedy, festive food and Christmas cheer. You will see a brilliant selection of comedians, you will have allocated seats & tables, and the option of a one, two or three course festive meal. After the show our will stay open, and we'll have a playlist or DJ keep you dancing into the night!

MAKING A BOOKING

We always recommend booking in advance. As with all our shows, you can book online or over the phone by making full payment using a credit/debit card.

If you need to pay by an alternative method, or for enquiries into deposit payments (available for groups of 20+ only), please contact our team on 0871 472 0400 or email christmas@glee.co.uk.

For some shows, as long as they are not sold out in advance, we may still have a limited number of spaces available on the door. These are first come, first served. Please note, tickets will be more expensive on the door.

Please be aware, all bookings are non-refundable as per the terms of booking. If the number in your party changes once paid for, please contact the Box Office team who can advise.

We are a ticketless venue, it's less hassle for you, and saves a few trees. Once you have booked you will receive an email confirmation of your booking. This is for your own records, there's no need to print it, but do read it through and make a note of the booking reference number (beginning with GL). Upon arriving at the club, we need the name your party is booked under, this will gain you entry. If you are the organiser of the party, please ensure all members of the group have the booking reference number and party name to give at the door.

You can login to the MYGLEE section of the website at any time, to take a look at any current bookings you have with us. You can also add drinks to your booking here. For any other changes to your Christmas booking, please contact the Box Office.

The Glee Club is a great night out, whether you are a solo comedy fan, a couple on the tiles or a group of 50. The capacity is the limit! However, Christmas is our busiest time of year, so we recommend booking well in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you are a large group and you encounter a limit whilst trying to book online, please contact our team who can advise on options. Call 0871 472 0400 or email christmas@glee.co.uk.

As long as we still have ticket availability for the show you require, then yes. Get in touch with the Box Office team and we’ll take you through it. As with all bookings we highly recommend doing this as soon as is possible to avoid any disappointment.

Not unless you're feeling generous! We take lots of group bookings, and we want you all to be able to sit together where possible, and have things sorted before you visit.

If you've booked separately, please contact our Box Office team to link your bookings together. Please note that bookings must have the same ticket type and arrival time to be linked together. This needs to be done at least two hours before the show doors open.

Some events have limits on the group booking size. If your group is over the size limit, please contact the Box Office to check availability.

As always with group bookings, we recommend you do this with enough time in advance to get you all booked in. If you are booking for the with food option, please be aware we will need all food orders no later than 2 weeks prior to your show.

If you have any drop-outs, please get in touch with the box office on 0871 472 0400 / christmas@glee.co.uk and we’ll see what we can do for you.

FOOD AND DRINK

Delicious food! We have a very tasty festive menu on offer for you this Christmas, with the option of one, two or three courses.

In order to be served food at our Christmas Comedy Specials, you will need to book a ticket + food option in advance. With our kitchens extremely busy at this time of year, we are unable to take food orders on the night. All members of your group must have the same number of food courses to be seated together. We do not take mixed ticket-type bookings.

Our festive menu contains gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and halal options - see menu & allergens

If you would like to discuss anything further, please email christmas@glee.co.uk, or call us on 0871 472 0400.

We will need to know what you want for your main course only. Starters are served as a sharing platter to your table and dessert can be picked from the Grotto on the night.

Food for our Christmas shows must be ordered a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. You can do this once our Christmas menu is confirmed by logging into my.glee.co.uk to add your food choices, or by emailing the Box Office on christmas@glee.co.uk. If you do not submit your food choice in time, you will automatically revert to our default dish and this cannot be changed.

If you need to make any alterations to your choices, you can do this up until 2 weeks prior to your show. All dishes are served as advertised and amendments to dishes cannot be made. If you have a specific dietary requirement, please refer to the allergens listed for each dish and choose accordingly. We cannot change/alter the ingredients for any dish.

If in any doubt about anything, don't hesitate to contact our friendly box office team! 0871 472 0400 / christmas@glee.co.uk

Not if you don’t want to, but we think you should - it’s very tasty! If you wish to book Show Only tickets, you may of course do so (subject to availability). We also have a ticket + 1 course meal option, a ticket + 2 course and ticket + 3 course option. All prices are as advertised in the show listings on this page.

Certainly! You can do this yourself online through MyGlee once your booking is in.

We also have drinks packages to make life that little bit easier - see details here.

What about a bar tab?

We recommend taking advantage of one of the packages, or pre-ordering your own drinks online for ease, but if you prefer a tab, no problem!

We are happy to set up a pre-paid bar tab for you via invoice ahead of your visit. If you wish to do this, please contact the team on 0871 472 0400 or christmas@glee.co.uk.

You can also set up a bar tab on the night of the show with a credit/debit card, with optional limits. To do this, simply ask for the bar manager who will create and manage the tab for you.

GETTING IN / ACCESSIBILITY

We will do our best to help and accommodate your needs in a respectful and if required, confidential manner.

Please see our accessibility page for full details.

Arriving during the entry time window printed on your confirmation is a condition of booking. If you arrive after this time, entry is at the discretion of the management who will do all they can to accommodate you.

If you don't make it before the show begins you will be asked to wait until the first possible opportunity of getting you in without disturbing the show.

If a member of your party knows they will be late in advance, it's always useful for our box office to know this, so please give us a call.

If you have booked a ticket with food please note:
There is a window of time to serve you and all of our customers before the show starts. We therefore cannot stress enough how important it is that you and your whole party arrive in good time to take your seats at the time the party was allocated when booking.

Whereas we always aim to be as accommodating as possible, arriving late or arriving with many missing from your party will unfortunately compromise your food service.

We ask and thank you in advance for arriving in good time - if we all stick to the script, a marvellous night will be had!

The auditorium is set out with tables in front of each row of seats. These rows extend backwards from the stage in a theatre style. Your group will be allocated seats and tables together which are yours for the evening. If you are eating with us, your food will be served to your tables shortly after your whole party is seated.

If you have a seating request (for instance 'Not on the front row!'), please give us a call on 0871 472 0400 or email info@glee.co.uk so we can note it down for you. We can't 100% guarantee your request will be granted, as we have many group sizes to fit into our plan, but we will do our very best for you!

All Christmas comedy shows are strictly 18+.

Our venue is obliged by local licensing to enforce a 'Challenge 25' policy, which means anyone who looks under 25 may be asked for ID to gain entry. If when asked you fail to produce legally acceptable ID you may be refused entry without refund.

Accepted forms of ID:

- Passport
- Photo driving licence (provisional licences are accepted)
- Card with official PASS hologram

If you cannot provide valid when requested you may be refused entry. Refunds will not be issued for incorrectly booked tickets.

The ongoing safety of our customers, staff and performers is of absolute paramount importance. So if you’re visiting one of our venues, please take a moment to read the below information.

Security & CCTV
Our management and security teams regularly review procedure and protocol with all staff. As with every live event, there are lots of things that go on behind the scenes, so please be patient if things take a little longer than you’re used to. All of our venues are monitored by CCTV at all times.

Travel light

Please arrive for the event in good time as we carry out security searches on entry. We have no cloakroom facilities and request you do not bring large bags.

Contraband
Parties found bringing in food and drink without prior arrangement, or any dangerous or illegal weapons / substances onto our premises will be denied entry without refund, and the party's details passed on to the authorities where relevant.

Speak to us
If at any time you see or hear anything untoward, please speak to a member of our team – we’re here to help.

Join us, be merry, have a great time, but we are a licensed venue - which means we cannot legally permit entry, or serve alcohol, to anyone who has clearly stayed in the pub too long after work.

Customers who arrive already intoxicated will not be permitted entry and no refund offered. Any member of your party found in possession of or found using any prohibited drugs will be asked to leave. We reserve the right to conduct bag and body searches and also to pass any relevant information to police.

DURING YOUR VISIT

Your tables are reserved and our friendly staff will give you your table number upon arrival.

If you have pre-ordered your drinks they will be waiting for you on your table.

For those who choose the three course option the sharing platters will be on the tables upon arrival. Those who choose the one or two course option will be served shortly after the whole party take their seats.

If you have Show Only tickets, you can check in to the main auditorium between 7.30 - 8.15pm.

There will be table service available once you enter the auditorium - scan the QR code on your table to order.

The show will be in three sections, the MC will introduce each act and each section will last around 25-30 minutes. There will be two intervals of 10-20 minutes. Shows will finish at approximately 10.30pm-11.00pm, when your afterparty will commence! The bar downstairs will remain open late, with a playlist or DJ to keep you dancing into the small hours.

We want all of our customers to have the best night possible, which means amongst the Christmas cheer, we need everyone to play by the rules to ensure a magical time.

All customers regardless of age, gender or perceived status are expected to treat the venue, staff, acts and fellow customers with due respect and good manners. This extends to talking during the show, which we consider to be rude and disrespectful to nearby customers as well as the acts performing.

Our security staff will intervene and give warnings to anyone disrupting others' enjoyment of the night, if bad behaviour persists, some or all of the party will be asked to leave. Any customers demonstrating aggressive or intimidating behaviour will also be ejected immediately. Refunds will not be issued for any customers ejected.

Recording or photographing the comics or artists is not permitted and may result in the confiscation of the recording device and deletion of material/images.

No, wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Some clothes are advised. Some people like to dress up, others go for casual attire. All styles are welcome at The Glee.

If you want to wear fancy dress, go for it, we don't have a problem with you looking a bit silly. However, you will be asked to remove anything that gets in the way of other customers' enjoyment of the show (eg, massive hats, flashing lights, noisy items).

We do! Please enquire with the check-in staff on the night.

No. We want you and everyone in the room to be able to enjoy the show, undisturbed. We've all scowled at someone in the cinema who's phone goes off at a crucial moment, it's the same for a live show.

We require all attendees to set their phones to silent.

We can't tell if customers are recording the show unless phones are turned off and put away, it's illegal to film a show, it is piracy.

Every time you check your phone or go to text, the phone screen lights up like a christmas tree and so does your face! This is distracting to the acts and those around and behind you.

This only applies during the show, you have plenty of time before, during intervals, and after the show to check & use your phone. If you need to use your phone whilst the show is on, please simply leave the auditorium to do so.

Go on then, it’s Christmas after all! Our after party is primarily for comedy customers, but we don’t mind if Karen from the office wants to pop along to join in with your company’s Christmas celebrations.

All we ask is that you provide us with these names ahead of your visit so we can put them on an entry list for our security staff. As ever, we’ll need to see ID if they are lucky enough to look under 25!

If you have a complaint about food, drink or anything that is disrupting your experience, please query this with the staff on the night. If we know what's happening at the time, we will do all we can to quickly rectify this for you, and allow you to continue enjoying the evening.

If you would like to make a formal complaint after the event, or wish to send us some feedback, we welcome you to do so. Please contact our Box Office Manager at info@glee.co.uk with as much detail as possible. All complaints must be submitted in writing and cannot be processed via telephone.

They will make sure this complaint is passed on to the managers involved. We respond in every instance in due course, once the matter has been investigated.

EVERYTHING ELSE

All of our venues are central and have good access to accommodation and transport.

Please take a look at our location page for further practical details.

Alternatively, a quick internet search using the venue postcode will provide options - Glasgow G2 3AB.

Whilst we make every effort to keep line-ups as listed, line-ups may be subject to change. Some acts are unable to play the venue after all, for reasons outside of our control. When this happens, we always replace them as soon as is possible, with another top-notch act.

If you are planning to see a specific act on a mixed bill show, please bear in mind that line-ups are subject to change, and refunds cannot be issued.

Yes. Very! We book the best acts working on the UK & International circuit. These are fully-paid professionals, who know their comedy.

If you want to see who's booked in for the night of your show, head to the listings page and click on the performer's face or name to get a full bio with videos & links.

The booking fee applies to every ticket. The transparency of our pricing is as important to us as it is to our customers, so we have a small and upfront booking fee that covers the cost to our business. This in turn allows us to staff our box office for all of your enquiries and ticket bookings, allows customers to book online, and to transfer tickets between shows.

All bookings are non-refundable as per the terms and conditions of booking. If the number of people in your party changes once paid for, please contact the team who can advise. 0871 472 0400 or christmas@glee.co.uk.

Question not covered? No worries, get in touch with our friendly box office team, who will be glad to help.
